Netiquette Core Principles For Email Subject Lines For Jobseekers - Via Netiquette IQ

Some of my blogs and my book discuss Netiquette in subject lines. There are different attributes for some specific categories of email, such as job seekers. The points outlined below speak to these particular types although there are other areas which are similar. Sales is one of these.

1.       A referral – Referred by Serkan Gecmen

2.       Mention a positive company item, i.e., a new product

3.       Be very specific with job description, content, ID number

4.       If making a “cold” inquiry, be direct

5.       Use any prestigious titles such as CEO, CTO, etc.

6.       Ask for professional advice

7.       Tantalize with mentioning special content

8.       User power words

9.       Avoid over-hype

10.    If it is a re-emailing ask for a confirmation

11.    If it is a re-emailing mention it as a second request

12.    Promote yourself mentioning customer reviews
